Junior Heat 1

At his very first meeting 33 Gary Wilson had a very bad accident and we would like to wish him a very speedy recovery.

18 Juniors lined up for the first race of the day. The early leader was 127 from 222 and 12. The juniors got of to a flying start and 710 had soon moved into third place while 114 went round the outside to take the third from 710 and then she went on to challenge for the second and as 222 and 114 came out of the bend it was 114 in second place. As Jack West 87 went up the inside of 710 they had a coming together at pit bend end and as the field was bunched up several other cars were also involved so the race was stopped for safety. At the restart 87,991, 710 and 697 were all sat in the middle of the centre green following the accident. As they got going for the second time it was 127 who took up the lead from 222 and 114. Unlucky for 33 who went into the tyres but managed to carry on racing. 114 went round the outside to take over the second place while 12 pulled into the centre green.24 having made his way through the field slipped up the inside of 222 to take the third place mean while the red tops were coming through the field and 93 was up into fourth place but the front three had opened up quite a gap and 93 just did not have enough laps to catch them. As the chequered flag came out it was a win for 127 David Barnett with 114 Jemma Bond second and third was 24 Chris Poole.

Junior Heat 2

14 juniors safely away for the second heat of the day with 516 being the early leader from 127 and 102 but at the end of the first lap 127 and 102 had both passed 516 dropping her back into third place. 87 then went up the inside of 516 to move into third. 127 and 102 were battling for the lead and they went into the bend side by side but 127 managed to hang on to it. 102 went wide going into the bend and 87 slipped up the inside to move into second. The back markers were on the move and 991 went up the inside of 102 to take over third place. Meanwhile 87 had passed 127 for the lead and 991 followed him through to take the second. First across the line was 87 Jack West with 991 Brett Constable second and 127 David Barnett third.

Junior Heat 3

17Juniors on track. At the start of the race 710 failed to get of the line so the race was stopped. At the restart 102 took the lead from 516 and 42 while 110 spun round. The red tops were not hanging around and were soon charging through the field. Unfortunately 110 had to pull off. 535 and 93 were up with the front runners and 535 went round the field to take the second place closely followed by 93 who moved into third. 535 and 93 were closing in on 102 and at the second attempt 535 managed to take the lead with 93 also passing 102 to take the second place. Unfortunate for 997 and 161 who both pulled off into the centre. At the line it was a win for 535 Ryan Stoodley with 93 Lee Jaycock second and third place was 102 Clayton Wheeler.

Junior Final

13Juniors revved up for the final. As they got away it was 222 who took the early lead from 127 and 87. The racing got of to flying start with 127 challenging for the lead on the first lap but 222 managed to hang on to it. Then 127 went wide and 87 went up the inside to take second place and then went up the inside to take the lead with 102 following through to take the second. 222 then went wide allowing 127 back into third place. The back markers were coming through and 161 was soon up into fourth place and challenging for the third which he took. 102 went wide into the bend and 161 took advantage and moved into second dropping 102 into third. 161 slipped up the inside when 87 went wide putting him in the lead. The rest of the field were also changing places and 535 was in fifth and 93 was in seventh and both were making ground on the leaders but they finally ran out of laps as the flag came out. First across the line was 161 Steven Grant with 87 jack West second and 102 Clayton Wheeler third.

Junior Non Qualifiers Final

9 Juniors ready to go for the last race of the day. 516 was the early leader from 65 and 364. 710 was soon battling for the third and took it. 710 then went up the inside of 65 to move into second. 110 was closing in and after passing third place was challenging for the second and they went up the straight side by side buy 110 went wide going into the bend and 710 managed to hang on to second place. At this point 33 caught the tyres around the top bend and they sent him flying into the Armco at speed. The race was stopped for the ambulance to come on. We heard later that 33 Gary Wilson was seriously hurt and is now in the J.R. hospital. The race was called at this point so the winner was 516 Sophie Williamson with 710 Scott Moakes second and 110 Samantha Tyler third.

See you all next meeting.
